Kuala Lumpur: Cuepacs on Sunday reminded civil servants not to abuse the small business permit, which will be issued by the Government to low-income earners, including government staff, to help them cope with economic burden following the fuel price hike.
Cuepacs President Omar Osman, who welcomed the move, said it showed the Government cared for the welfare of its staff, particularly those in the low-income group.
Cuepacs estimated that there were 650,000 civil servants earning a monthly income of RM2,500 and below.
"I hope the civil servants who apply for the permit will use the facility for themselves and not to rent it to others.
"They should also ensure that any business activities they venture in, will not disrupt their office work," Omar said here.
He also called on the Government to similarly open the application for taxi permit to civil servants.
