KUALA TERENGGANU, Jan 11 (Bernama) -- The Congress of Unions of Employees in the Public and Civil Service (Cuepacs) wants the government to review the service scheme and grades for civil servants. Its president Omar Osman said this was necessary as each grade had different salary limit and thus could affect productivity and performance."Some civil servants had already reached their salary limit despite having 20 or 30 more years of service left. Productivity will suffer as they will not get any annual increments," he told Bernama at a briefing on issues in the public sector here today.Cuepacs would hold a special workshop in March to propose a review of the salary scheme and grades, including the management group and Grades 1-40.He urged the Education Ministry to issue offer letters to 119 support group members (AKS) before Jan 17 as they had not received offers to renew their contracts.Education Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Tun Hussein had on Jan 5 said 119 AKS members in Terengganu would have their contracts renewed soon.-- BERNAMA
