Cuepacs should stop making yearly opportunistic demands for bonus as if they were handouts for the poor. Bear in mind that the public service servants should perform just like their private sector counterparts, and this encompasses areas such as effectiveness, efficiency, and integrity. The rakyat at large deserves the right to decide if the public servants deserve the bonus they ask for by evaluating their yearly performance across the board.
Notwithstanding the performance factor, all employees should be made aware that bonuses are not a right, privilege or entitlement. Those working in the private sectors would readily tell you that under such trying economic and business environments, one should count their blessings if they can keep their jobs. Demanding for bonuses, increments and promotions would be the last thing on their minds. Just ask around, how many people had a bonus? For those who did, was it 2 weeks, one mth or 2 mths?
So, STOP this crybaby tactic, Cuepacs! Work on how to improve on your members' service quality and integrity level. When billions of RM can be saved, the rakyat would be happy to consider rewarding select, deserving civil servants.
