PETALING JAYA: The Congress of Unions of
Employees in the Public and Civil Service (Cuepacs) urges the government
to abolish the minimum and maximum salary scale and replace it with a
service scheme, which is viewed to be better, flexible and has a
reasonable annual growth in accordance to modern times.
Berita Harian reported today that Cuepacs president Datuk
Azih Muda said the move is needed as the existing system, which follows
the the Malaysia Remuneration System (SSM) is no longer relevant as it
has a lot of weaknesses especially in terms of annual salary increases.
Azih stressed that there are many civil servants, especially in the
support group, who would receive an increment of only up to RM50 yearly,
even if they have served more than 10 years with any departments or
agencies.
Azih added the majority of 1.5 million civil servants, especially
about 400,000 from the support group, still live under the poverty line
as they receive a minimum salary of RM805 monthly.
"Cuepacs hopes that the government could increase the annual minimum
salary increase and the minimum basic salary for civil servants to
RM1,200 per month or 35% of salary levels to minimise their financial
burden," he added.
"This is a must as there are a lot of civil servants, especially from
the support group, who are now pressured as they need to face the
increasing cost of living and the increase of goods when the Goods and

penjawat awam bergaji besar, telah tersedia segala kemudahan memang tidak terasa atau terkesan dengan segala kenaikan atau barangan yang dikenakan cukai..
BalasPadamNamun, lihatlah penjawat awam bergaji rendah.
Gaji aku sebulan termasuk elaun RM4052.00. Nk tanggung anak 5 orang. Isteri terpaksa berhenti kerja untuk jaga anak. BR1M pun tak dapat... padahal gaji pokok baru RM3400. Dulu susu anak RM23 skarang RM29! Kami golongan paling rugi... BR1M pun tak layak. Patutnya BR1M bg ikut bil tanggungan. Kalau bujang atau anak sorang boleh laa...
