KUALA LUMPUR: Cuepacs has welcomed the move by the government to shore up the civil service under the RM60 billion mini-Budget announced by Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak on Tuesday.
The union said the move by the government is "a guarantee" of the continued support by the government to the civil service and public servants.Cuepacs president Omar Osman described the move to hire 63,000 new government servants as a "good move".He suggested that priority in hiring be given to the existing 50,000 contractual staff."Some of them have been serving in a contractual capacity from anywhere between five and 15 years. Priority should be given to the current temporary staff as well."
