KANGAR: The Congress of
Unions of Employees in the Public and Civil Services (Cuepacs) is
appealing to the Federal government to consider giving a one month bonus
to civil servants for Hari Raya Aidilfitri.
Its president Datuk Azih Muda expressed his hope that the government
could give due consideration to the request which was aimed at easing
the burden of the staff in preparing for Ramadhan and Raya celebrations.
“A one month bonus is apt if we take into account the top notch services
given by the civil servants apart from the hike in prices of goods.
“At the same time, we would like to welcome the move made by Penang
government in announcing the three quarters of salary bonus for the
upcoming Raya celebration slated on July 7.
“For other states which could afford to increase the bonus amount, we
encourage them to do so as soon as possible,” he told a press conference
after opening the Perlis Cuepacs delegate meeting here today.
