Local unemployment

KUALA LUMPUR: There is fresh hope for some 300,000 people without jobs in the country.
They will receive assistance from special community employment service centres to help the longtime unemployed.
To facilitate the process, the Congress of Union of Employees in the Public and Civil Services (Cuepacs) wants the Human Resource Ministry to first conduct a thorough study before setting up such community employment service centres.
Last Friday, Human Resource Minister Datuk Dr S. Subramaniam announced that the government will immediately set up 11 employment centres to help 300,000 jobless people in the country.
Cuepacs president Omar Osman told The Malay Mail that the government should study the situation carefully before setting up such centres.
"It is important to study who these 300,000 people are and why they are jobless to enable the centres to function accordingly."
Omar added the government also needs to research the appropriate industries to cater for the unemployed.
"It is a good idea, but these centres would only be successful in helping the jobless if a comprehensive study is carried out."
It is learnt that the employment community centres would be set up in shopping complexes, bus stations and Social Security Organisation (Perkeso) buildings.
"The government must make sure that the centres are set up at the right locations as it is important to have easy access to such places."
Osman said it was not right for Subramaniam to compare Malaysia to United States, where the unemployment rate is five million to Malaysia's 300,000 jobless locals.
"I think its not right to compare our country with the US as our economy is different from theirs. But since he (the minister) has put it that way, then shouldn't we also compare the population of both countries?"
Osman further suggested that the high rate of unemployment can be brought down if the number of foreign workers being brought into the country is reduced.
"We must stop being dependent on foreign workers. Local companies need to offer a reasonable salary to attract locals to take up jobs.
"Once set up, the employment community centres would be handled by experienced councilors who will then guide and offer counseling sessions to job seekers."
The Human Resource Ministry had also said that the its main focus this year was to ensure that the unemployed find jobs according to their qualification and interest.

cepat bantu.. tapi kan govmen takde peruntukan? tu yang nak potong COLA agaknya kot...
aku ni dh lulus interview SPA F41 tapi SPA dok simpan2.xde permintaan dri kemeterian2 katenye...aku rase memang SPA kecoh2 dok interview fresh2 graduate tapi sbnrnye kojonye xde lagi.dok simpan2.klau xde kekosongan wat per panggil interview.wat penat2 je dtginterview tapi sebenarnya kekosongan kejenye x byk....kesian graduan2 skg ni...asik mengharap benda yg xde...penat kami belaja tapi peluang keje xde...simpan jela degree kt kg.dok kg la jawabnye tolong org tua nombak sawit...nak wat cam ne.ekonomi m'sia tgh gawat...kesian kami...
senasib la kita.nk wat cmne time kite dh graduate time ni la ekonomi gawat.tapi member2 aku ade bgtau klau nk dpt posting keje gomen mesti kene ade cabel kt putrajaya.member2 yg anak2 pensyarah maktab senang2 je dpt KPLI sbb ayah ade cable.tapi ko ayah keje kg je.sure xde cable.bagi pendapat aku kerajaan kenelah utamakan anak2 kg utuk keje gomen.barulah adil.bantu yang miskin & berpendapatan rendah.kalau nk keje gomen kene ade cable patutnya SPA tu dibubarkan.suruhanjaya kenelah telus..kesian ko.xpe2 terus berusaha.nnti rezeki ko akan sampai jgk...
kesian aku tengok adik2 yg baru abis belaja mcm korg2 ni.nk buat mcm mane kerajaan asik nk lahirkan modal insan je byk2.ikutkan lahirkan modal kerja byk2 dulu baru lahirkan modal insan.barulah korg ni semua ade kerje.ni idak.tiap2 tahun beribu2 graduan ijazah dikeluarkan dari IPTA.tak temasuk IPTS lagi.mane nk ditempatkan ramai2 tu.kejenya sikit.graduannye ramai.yang anak2 org berada & kaya tu blhla start bisnes.tapi graduan2 kg mcm korang mengharaplah keje2 gomen yg x berapa ade skg ni.aku xslhkan korg tapi aku slhkan kerajaan yg x abis2 berpolitik.tapi abuk pn xde.
Salam semua,
Saya lulusan B.Econs dari local U. Saya pernah keje kat kedai ayam, ikut meniaga pasar malam..keje supermarket, keje buruh contractor bangunan. Semua tue saya lakukan sambil2 mencari kerja yg sesuai ngan kelayakan. But to be honest, apa yg sesuai ngan pendidikan anda? This real life yg memberi pengajaran sebenar kpd anda.
Wat part time kat kedai makan pun takpe, anda akan belajar ttng pengurusan kedai makan..feasibility, cash flow management dll. Macam mana nak cakap pasal ekonomi makro kalau ekonomi mikro pun kita tatau. Sell urself. Paling mudah, venture lam bidang pertanian. Start ngan tanam cili kat belakang rumah...then anda akan ambil tahu pasal pertanian, supplier, networking, ROI dll. Sebagai graduan, go for a step further...wat paper utk dapatkan dana pertanian. Paperwork tanpa apa-apa set up susah orang nak tengok. Tapi kalau dah ader bukti, senang utk dibuat penilaian. Saya highlightkan pengalaman sendiri dan rakan-rakan yg grad pasca economic crisis tahun 99 dan 2000.
sad to say this to you, but it's the fact that malay rely too much on govt support. NEP is the last thing they had. Now i heard it'll be demolished by certain political parties. so what's left for them?
thank god there're still groups of people who wanted to bailed them out of misery. new research on how to help those NEET continuing their life, help them to stand up and shout. yet there're still a few of them who is willing to uplift the double standard policy just to make an advantages over govt soft policy. sad they never say thanks. all i heard, moaning, yelling and shouting back at the govt.
malay people is really a sad race
Aku bukannye mengeluh.tapi just sangsi dgn ketelusan dan keadilan dlm urus tadbir negara .aku org kg.dari kecik dok tolong ayah noreh getah & nombak sawit.soal peluh korang jgn cite lah.setakat keje2 kg ni semua aku dh buat.tanam tebu, sayur, cili, pisang semuanya ade kt kebun ayah aku.xpyh cite psl makro & mikro ekonomi lah.ekonomi m'sia ni semua begantung pada petroleum, sawit, getah, padi dari FELDA n peladang2 kg mcm aku.bukannya xnk keje executive kilang.tapi berapa je dorg blh bagi.lebih baik aku simpan degree engineering aku.dok kg urus kebun org tua.bln2 pn blh dpt 3 ribu.to jimmy:org melayu bukannye lemah, pemalas n mengharapkan ehsan kerajaan tapi kami mahukan ketelusan, keadilan dan kecekapan dlm urus tadbir negara.
Saudara Tanpa Nama...bagusla saudara dah nampak income dari tolong ayah ngan pertanian...cadangan saya saudara simpan aje Degree Engineering tue...sbb degree tue hanyalah sekeping tiket ke dunia sebenar. Proses pembelajaran yg berterusan yg penting...kikis mentaliti masih lagi nak cari keje yg sesuai ngan kelayakan...tentu saudara akan kata wat apa belajar penat-penat kalu takleh keje lam bidang tersebut. Itu adalah hakikat...degree kat Mesia nie nanti akan sama level ngan degree holder kat Indonesia dan Bangladesh..even tukang sapu pun ada Master...memang kerajaan tak berapa cekap lam menangani perkara tersebut...dan saya pun malas nak cakap pasal politik....saya tak pandai...so pedulikan mereka semua...sebab ia akan mengambil masa yg panjang utk memperbetulkannya. Oleh sebab level saudara belajar lebih tinggi dari ayah...so saudara kembangkan lagi perusahaan ayah...aplikasikan teknologi lam pertanian...mass productiaon..economy of scale...dari RM3K tingkatkan jadi RM6K sebulan....takyah la fikir nak keje makan gaji...kena ngadap bos..tempuhi jem dll..banyak opportunity lost.
Pembetulan sket...ekonomi Malaysia sekarang nie yg utama ialah eksport bidang perkhidmatan, then manufacturing sector, construction...komoditi cam kelapa sawit, getah, petroleaum dah sekunder. Ala..takyah cakap pasal ekonomi la..saudara lagi bijak dari saya yg sekadar terlibat dalam bidang ekonomi nie sejak 2001. Sebab saudara fresh grad...millenium kids...
Tanpa Nama@ it the likes of u that makes malaysian so funny to the eyes of the other races. It's just about you and your harvesting method on getting 3k permonth or maybe less i believe cos those sector were thrown to the secondary one after what mattdemon says. World won't need palm oil and rubber that much anymore. so basically you're just mocking your own way of earning money. I don't even care if u have a degree in Space Technology or Master in Sharpening Blade to be use on palm oi harvesting area, it's just about what u want in life.
please stop begging to govt about not having a proper job as you knew that there's 1001 jobs out there available for grads like u. U as a malay must have a will to overcome what's left. all these research centers, these efforts can be done in just one week. at least this Kementerian Sumber Manusia is willing to do something to those who didn't have the will to survive.
i know that earning rm3k per months is not enough for u. But try doing new stuff like what mattdamon had told u
aku setuju dgn mattdemon ckp, aku pun dulu abis U keje kedai buku, keje repair mesin, angkat kotak &compay private gaji kecik..mcm2 lg. semua tu mematangkan fikiran. akhirnya dpt jg keje gov setelah banyak pegi interview..
dapat degree cuma utk keje gomen je ke? cipan semua, termasuk jimmy the malay-hater. betul, melayu mmg bharap keje gomen je, x dapat keje gomen rela dok kampung menganga tunngu gomen suap keje.. kalo non-bumi x pe la swasta back-up kuat, gaji pun beza.. bongok....
